Trespass Walking Boots Review

I've always enjoyed walking. When we lived in the city, everything was within walking distance so I used my feet as my main mode of transport. Now that we live in the countryside, walking is a totally different experience, and I enjoy it even more now.

It's especially good now that the kids are getting to that age where they can enjoy walking too. On the weekend and in the evenings, particularly now that it's staying lighter for longer, we love to get out and about for a nice stroll. As well as family adventures, I still use walking as my main method of transport, and will quite happily walk the 3 miles to my children's school if I have the time.

Despite my love for walking, I have never owned a pair of walking boots, and I thought it was about time I changed that!

When Trespass asked me if I would like to try something from their range, I knew instantly what I wanted. I chose the Glyndwr Womens Technical Boots in grey, which I thought were a steal at £27.99. I always expected to pay a lot more than that for a good pair of walking boots, which I guess is why I've never bought a pair before.

When they arrived I couldn't wait to take them out of the box. My first impressions of them were that they were a lovely colour, they look darker in colour than they did in the picture, and I particularly loved the flash of pink. They felt good and sturdy, but not too heavy which is great because you don't want your shoes to weigh you down when you are out walking!

They felt so comfortable, even on the first wearing, which I was pleased about. Usually you have to wear shoes a few times to 'break them in', but I didn't need to do that with these boots. It's awful when you go out in a new pair of shoes and come home covered in blisters, and I'm always weary of that with new shoes but the boots were very well fitting and hugged my foot perfectly.

They are made from suede and mesh, which allows for your foot to breath when you are out walking. I found, even after a long walk in the nice weather, my feet didn't feel that sweaty when I took them out of the boot. They are also waterproof, which is perfect for the changeable British climate! You never know when it's going to pour. I hate getting my feet wet, so I'm glad to know the Glyndwr boots will keep me dry.

The boots have a great grip on the sole, and will be perfect for all terrains. So far I have only worn them for walking on relatively flat ground and a short walk over the sand dunes near me which is usually a nightmare for stability when walking but I found I felt much more secure and could walk the less taken paths through the dunes and feel secure to do so in these boots. I imagine they will be great for more intense trekking, and will be taking them up the mountains near me when I get the chance. I will update you all on my first trip up the mountains in them.

I love the look of them, they look great with skinny jeans, or some shorts and slouchy socks for warmer walks. They are a good shoe for many occasions, going camping, festivals, hiking or simply walking around with the family.

I really like the Glyndwr Walking boots, and I can't wait to wear them on my adventures over the summer.

  1. These boots look fab, I love the colour. We do lots of walking too and I always wear my wellies which are so uncomfortable after a while. They are a good price too, thanks for sharing :),
