Week 7 & 8 Roundup / 12 Week Slip in to Summer Challenge

This week it's the end of week 8 of the 12 week 'Slip in to Summer' challenge with DW Fitness.

I'm doing a 2 week roundup, because I didn't get a chance to do a post last week due to illness. The whole house came down with a nasty bug. I felt really rough! A combination of persistent vomiting, and zero appetite meant I ended up losing quite a bit of weight. Almost 6lb gone in one week, and I didn't feel good for it.

I did my weigh in as usual on the Monday morning, as I was finally starting to recover, but it just didn't feel right dedicating a whole post to my weeks progress when none of the progress had actually come from the plan that week.

Week 8 has been a much better week. After being stuck in the house for much of the previous week, it felt so good to be able to get out in the fresh air and get some workouts done. I'm still really enjoying cycling. I know running is probably better, but I'm still having trouble with my chest and breathing when I go out running, and after 8 weeks I still can't run very far. I love that I can get on my bike and cycle somewhere I've never been, and I can go much further than I could on foot. It gives my legs, hips and thighs such a good workout, when I get home I'm like jelly and I really feel it the next day.

I've been to the gym a few times this week too, although I had to ease myself in a bit on my first day back!

This week I decided it was time to reveal my Weird Fish for the first time...

This is the dress I chose at the beginning of the challenge. I love the colour, it's so summery looking! At the start of the challenge I was a size 12, but after taking measurements it was agreed that I would go for a size 8, as the loss needed was achievable. I was a little apprehensive, I haven't fit in to a size 8 since I was about 17!

When the dress first arrived, I was sure it wasn't going to fit. I tired it on, and couldn't even get it over my head which further cemented my fears. What I didn't realise is that the dress had a zip on one side, so after making this discovery I did manage to get it on, but it was pretty tight around my tummy. I haven't tried it on agin since, as I want to wait until the end of the challenge so I can see how far I've come! I'm excited to wear it in the summer with a nice tan, some gold jewellery and a pair of gladiator sandals, if it fits of course!

So I guess it's time to do the results of my weigh in and measurements for this week...

Week 7:
Weight - 10st 3
Loss this week - 5.2lb
Total Loss - 9.6lb

Week 8:
Weight - 10st 4.8
Loss this week - 1.8lb gained
Total loss - 8lb

Week 8 Measurements:
Bust - 88cm (0cm lost)
Waist - 72cm (2cm lost)
Tummy - 90cm (10cm lost)
Hips - 98cm (5cm lost)
Left Thigh - 56cm (3cm lost)
Right Thigh 57 (3cm lost)

As you can see, I have lost 23cm from my whole body since I started the challenge 8 weeks ago, and I'm pretty damn chuffed with that!

You can follow my progress over on my YouTube channel if you fancy:
